Benbrick on BBC Radio 3’s New Unwind Channel

go back

BBC Radio 3 has just launched a brand new digital station: Unwind. Available on BBC Sounds, Unwind is designed to help listeners relax with a curated selection of calming classical music.

Officially launched on November 4th, Unwind creates a peaceful space where listeners can escape daily pressures and enhance their well-being.

The new channel features thoughtfully curated programmes, a diverse musical selection, as well as content designed to promote focus and relaxation, with insights from guest experts in psychology, neuroscience, and mental health.

The presenter lineup brings together an eclectic mix of voices, including Edith Bowman, Dr Sian Williams, Niall Breslin, and AFRODEUTSCHE, as well as familiar BBC names like Ólafur Arnalds, Sara Mohr-Pietsch, Hannah Peel, and Izzy Judd, creating a welcoming and diverse listening experience.

Tileyard resident and Peabody Award-winning, multi-platinum selling English songwriter, producer and composer Benbrick, created Unwind’s audio branding and idents – from 5-second music motifs that play before each show, 20-second menu beds introducing musical moments, up to 2 minute ambient sonics that sit under the presenter’s words.

Working closely with the BBC team, Benbrick crafted warm, soothing compositions that establish Unwind as an immersive audio retreat. Recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra at Maida Vale, his compositions offer listeners a refreshing experience.

Tune in to Unwind on BBC Sounds to experience this serene soundscape for yourself and let Benbrick’s thoughtful compositions guide you into relaxation!
