We’re excited to share the news from two of our Tileyard residents.

Splice, the globally renowned music creation platform, has officially acquired Spitfire Audio, a leader in cutting-edge virtual instruments. This marks an inspiring new chapter for both companies and the wider music-making community.

Splice has long been at the forefront of digital tools for music makers, while Spitfire Audio has built a world-class reputation for its expansive sample libraries and orchestral textures, crafted in collaboration with the likes of Hans Zimmer, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Abbey Road Studios.

This union brings together a shared mission: to empower creators. The integration of Spitfire’s expressive sound palette with Splice’s AI-powered platform opens the door to new creative possibilities, all with artists at the heart of the process.

Both companies have placed a strong emphasis on the responsible use of AI. Their goal isn’t to replace musicians but to support and enhance their craft. The companies are set to start work on new products that blend Spitfire Audio’s cinematic soundscapes and orchestral expertise with Splice’s sample catalogue and AI-powered discovery engine. 

We’re especially proud that Splice and Spitfire Audio will continue to call Tileyard home. The companies will operate independently in the near term, with Spitfire maintaining its own leadership and creative direction with Olivier Robert-Murphy staying on as CEO of Spitfire Audio, reporting to Splice CEO Kakul Srivastava, while Paul Thomson continues to lead on creative direction.
