The Latest on un:hurd music: Partnership with EMPIRE + Release a New Platform Look

go back

Tileyard resident un:hurd music launches a strategic partnership with EMPIRE alongside the release of the new look un:hurd music platform.

un:hurd music is the leading platform for automated music marketing and promotion and has announced a strategic partnership with independent record label EMPIRE. EMPIRE are the label responsible for launching the careers of artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Fireboy DML and Shaboozey. The partnership includes investment into un:hurd music to support the development of new tools and will provide EMPIRE with seamless access to un:hurd music’s tools and services.

un:hurd’s mission, which is to create a centralised marketing solution for artists and record labels around the world, now adds EMPIRE to an already impressive list of strategic partners. un:hurd music previously announced partnerships with CD Baby, SoundCloud and Fiverr.com, among others, to access tens of millions of artists through 2025.

EMPIRE, the independent record label responsible for releasing music for the likes of Shaboozey and XXXTentacion, has made a strategic investment into un:hurd music, which brings added value to the partnership and will ensure EMPIRE artists gain access to the un:hurd platform and services to support their growing roster. This strategic investment takes place alongside un:hurd music’s ongoing fundraising, of which current investors such as Willard Ahdritz and Dan Runcie’s Trapital Ventures have already re-invested alongside Mindset Ventures MusicTech.

Alex Brees, CEO and Founder of un:hurd music says:

I’m incredibly excited to be working with EMPIRE, whose legacy as a leading independent publisher, distributor, and label is monumental and to be able to support their roster of talented artists globally. EMPIRE’s investment is a very credible nod to the work we do and it’s credit to the team for the work they’ve put in over the last 12 months to make this happen.

un:hurd music’s latest developments towards supporting artists are based around an artist’s release cycle. Following the acquisition of IndieKnow in November, un:hurd music has launched a release cycle tool which provides best practices, hints, tips, templates and promotional tools for artists at the right time throughout their release cycle to ensure a healthier and more impactful promotional plan. The full release cycle takes artists from day 1 of planning their release through to post-release promotion and everything in between. un:hurd music believes this is the next step in supporting artists and record labels effectively and sustainably.

Alex Brees says:

We have a very strong community of over 125,000 artists and record labels. We speak with them, we listen to them and we build for them. Our mission is to create a tool which provides real value to artists and record labels and so it’s critical we take into account their feedback. The new release cycles and reworked UI is based on the hours of work we’ve carried out with our community, and we’re confident it’s a big step in the right direction when it comes to music marketing and promotion.

The new feature is available via the un:hurd music website.
