go back

Tileyard resident and Tileyard Education Principal, Heaven 17 mastermind and founding member of The Human League, Martyn Ware has joined the PRS Members’ Fund as a new patron of the charity.

The PRS Members’ Fund supports songwriters, composers, and their families in times of need. For over 80 years, thanks to the generosity of supporters, the Fund has been able to provide help to songwriters and composers who are struggling financially, physically or emotionally– whether it be immediate assistance with finances, housing, mental or physical health issues, career change advice. Over the last ten years, the registered charity has awarded £5.1 million in grants and loans.

Martyn has written, performed and produced two Human League, two BEF and nine Heaven 17 albums. As a record producer and artist he has featured on recordings totalling over 50 million sales worldwide, producing amongst others Tina Turner, Terence Trent D’Arby, Chaka Khan, Erasure, Marc Almond and Mavis Staples.

In 2001, Martyn joined forces with Vince Clarke to found Illustrious Company, and together they continue to combine their unique three-dimensional sound technology to collaborate with an array of artists, corporate clients and clientele within the performing arts industry as the likes of BBC TV, Amnesty International, BAFTA, The Royal Ballet, Tate Britain and many more.
