For the second year running Yamaha have supported Tileyard Education in nurturing young talent awarding MA Commercial Songwriting and Production student Raven Alexander with a bursary!
Raven first fell in love with music at the tender age of three, singing along to songs with his parents in the car. He went on to study classical guitar, music theory and jazz guitar for ten years, before moving to London and enrolling at BIMM.
Graduating in 2017, Raven has pursued multiple careers and opportunities over the last three years, spending time working in PR, as an in-house engineer and starting bands. Often these roles would be hampered by circumstances out of his control, but instead of letting these setbacks throw him off his course. Raven has shown resilience to alter his path and keep moving forward. While he is undoubtedly a talented songwriter and producer, it’s his determination that has continued to impress us and most importantly, Yamaha.
Tileyard Education partnered with Yamaha last year. One of the most storied global brands, formed in 1887 as a reed organ manufacturer, widening their scope to building pianos in 1900. Ever since then they have become synonymous with quality craftsmanship and a lifetime of use across a number of products.
One thing’s for sure, Yamaha knows a thing or two about determination to succeed and we’re certain that’s why they selected Raven as their bursary winner. Yamaha have given Raven a bespoke package of equipment, an artist showcase feature and mentoring. We can’t wait to see such a talented individual make use of this great opportunity.
