Last month marked the completion of the biannual “Short, Sharp, Shot” programme at Small Green Shoots.
This 8-week intensive course trains young people aged 18-24 in professional standards, creative skills, and data and admin-centered software. Participants also had multiple Q&A sessions with a wide range of industry professionals from the music business. Additionally, the young participants were taken on a tour of Tileyard to learn about the offices there and had a session with Prash from Engine-Earz. The importance of these programmes is hugely understated, and each new cohort brings unique challenges and stories. While we could share how well it went and how great each session was, the opinions of the young people matter the most. Here are quotes from some of the amazing individuals who participated in the programme:

The programme concluded with an event at The Gallery, organised by the participants. Although the programme has ended, their work continues as they seek stable job opportunities within the industry. Previous success stories include Tegan, currently at Blackstar Agency; Finley, currently at UTA; and Nathalia, who works at EPIC (Sony), among many other successes from this program alone.
