In a strange and uncertain time when venues worldwide are closing Talentbanq wanted to be a little different by doing quite the opposite.
They opened a venue.
Social Media has blown up over the last month and so naturally musicians have taken their music to it as the only platform left available to them. Facebook live streams are popping up left right and centre and, like many, we were keen to make the most of the platform – but saturated with artists trying to be seen, heard and supported, how could we stand out?
‘The Virtuo by TALENTBANQ’, a virtual 360 venue. That’s how.
With the help of Tech Partner Gallant Rogue, ‘The Virtuo’ provides a gig-like experience from the safety of our homes. Audiences can enjoy performances of exceptional independent artists while they explore the venue in virtual reality. Meanwhile, the artist uses it as a hub of their work with posters displayed around the room and encourage donations for both themselves and independent venues.
The best part? Unlike their Camden Venue ‘The Camden Chapel’ that holds only 50, ‘The Virtuo’ has no maximum capacity. The last show was viewed by over 2500 people – how often do rising artists get the chance to play to that many people in the real world?
The great thing about online shows is that they stay there forever, views accumulate and music lovers can enjoy shows, share shows and support artists with donations whenever they wish to. Of course, nothing compares to the atmosphere of a great packed out live gig, but amidst the circumstances, Talentbanq have achieved something interesting, innovative and eye-catching which, along with the talent that graces it’s stage, just makes you want to click that ‘share button’.
Talentbanq have now hosted two successful shows from ‘The Virtuo’ and will continue with bi-monthly online gigs. The next one is an exclusive music video premier with a sensational artist scheduled for early May.
Talentbanq look forward to the day they can put on one extraordinary real-life live gig, but in the meantime are enjoying providing a unique virtual stage to our artists via ‘The Virtuo’.
