WHAT IS SAFFRON?
TECH DISSECT is brought to you by Saffron, a non-profit organisation founded in Bristol in 2015 by Laura Lewis-Paul. With just 5% of the music technology industry made up of Women, Saffron aims to challenge the current climate by providing Womxn with the tools and opportunities for a seat at the table. Through TECH DISSECT, Saffron hopes to create a space for Womxn in music tech to assemble, support, teach and encourage each other.
Saffron’s primary aims:
- Support, champion and inspire Womxn in music technology
- Promote inclusivity and representation for Womxn, on stage and behind the scenes
- Teach, empower and create visibility for Womxn in male-dominated spaces
- Have a tangible effect on the stereotypes society holds about Womxn’s roles and abilities, through long-term community building and education
