We are delighted to announce that Tileyard London and Tileyard Education have partnered with Yorkshire Sculpture Park to support their ‘Tune Into Nature’ competition.
As a monument to World Earth Day, Yorkshire Sculpture Park has launched a competition to find a piece of contemporary music inspired by nature. The brief came about after research by competition partner the University of Derby, which found that people’s connection to nature decreases during their teenage years. ‘Tune Into Nature’ aims to revitalise this connection and encourage young creatives to produce a piece of music influenced by the natural world around them.
Among the competition judging panel is Sam Lee, a Mercury Prize nominated musician and nature conservatist, Martyn Ware, Tileyard Education’s Principal and award winning songwriter and producer and Harry Leckstein, the Managing Director of Tileyard Education. Tileyard is offering the winner a free professional remix, produced by Martyn Ware. Included in the prize is a £1,000 grant, sponsored by Selfridges, to support the winner’s future work.
To enter the competition please complete an application form and send it to: TuneIntoNature@ysp.org.uk by 31 July 2020. Track submissions must not be longer than six minutes. The competition is open to anyone aged 16-29 and resident in the UK.
