Dwight Gibson – Junior Videographer Blackstar Agency
When Dwight Gibson joined Blackstar Agency just over a year ago, he knew he had found something special. “I’ve been at Blackstar for just over a year now, and to this day, I still describe it as a dream job,” Dwight shares. “My mind is still blown that SGS found me such a perfect fit in terms of the job role and work culture.”
“I’m on a whole new level compared to where I was a year ago. Blackstar has been the perfect environment to learn, grow, and create sick content.”
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Dwight admits, “It has come with its fair share of mistakes, struggles, and stress, but when I look back at where I started, I’m proud of how far I’ve come in only a year.”
“I try to make the most of every day at Blackstar because opportunities like this don’t come often for young black men from Croydon.”
We can’t wait to see Dwight grow even more in the upcoming years!
Small Greens Shoots on GearFest UK 2024:
“On Saturday, July 13th, me (Rohan), Sade, and Sarah (three young Shoots of SGS) got to volunteer at the amazing GearFest UK Music Studio Equipment Show at Tileyard London. As aspiring music industry pros, we were super excited to be part of the event that brought together producers, musicians, engineers, and other experts from all over the world, including people from Malta, the Netherlands, Germany, and many other countries.
Our roles included guiding attendees to different areas across TYX, The Gallery, and other spots. The event had a ton of music equipment companies like Headline Audio, PMC, Sound On Sound, Warm Audio, Sennheiser, and Make Noise Pro Audio, all showing off the latest in headphones, microphones, audio interfaces, and cool new software.
Some of the best moments were using the Nord keyboards, hanging out in the PMC Studio, playing on the Rhodes, and hearing Sarah’s song on MUM monitors at PresentDayProduction. We also loved chatting with passionate reps and trying out new synths and mics. The whole event was an inspiring experience that made me appreciate music studios and music production even more.”
